Wine Tasting: The Finger Lakes

  • VinoTeca 299 N Highland Ave NE Atlanta, GA 30307 United States (map)

The Finger Lakes is a pre-Prohibition wine region, with the first vines planted in Hammondsport, New York, in 1829. By 1900, more than 50 wineries had been established along the lakes. But it wasn’t until 1982 that the AVA was officially created. Today, there are 10,790 producing acres with 832 acres of Riesling.

The Finger Lakes region has been a staple at VinoTeca since we opened but in May, Janeen had a chance to visit NY and our love affair was solidified. This week we are showcasing 3 wineries that she fell in love with on her week at camp.

Wines Include:
Hillick & Hobbs Riesling from Seneca Lake, NY
Osmote FLX ‘This is Red Pet Nat’ from Finger Lakes, NY
3 wines - $15 // 1 wine - $6 // 3 ounce pours
