This month VinoTeca will lead a September Tasting Series dedicated to introducing European wines that are traditional to the featured country, yet obscure across the pond. The nation will change every week with a focus toward organic, small producers who hold true to the grapes their ancestors cultivated.
Our third installment is a country that we hold dear - Spain. The history of winemaking here has nothing to do with the Greeks and truly is a mystery. The Phoenicians arrived 3000 years ago and found vineyards as well as true exportation to North Africa and throughout the Mediterranean. There are over 200 grapes still used for wine in Spain with strong sense of tradition to individual regions.
We will be pouring 3 unique wines with that show what the terroir of Espana can offer.
